In short

The buying check works without an account and without ad tracking. We collect as little data as possible — most of it stays right on your device and never leaves it.

What stays on your device

• Your entries in the buying check (income, equity) — in the browser's session or local storage.
• Checklist progress and notes — in the browser's local storage.
• Photos, videos and voice memos from the checklist — in the browser's local database (IndexedDB). They are not transmitted to us.
• Text recognition for screenshots runs entirely in your browser by default; the images then never leave your device.

What goes to our server

• Uploaded sales brochure PDFs: processed in memory for the analysis and not stored permanently.
• Screenshots only when you click: if local recognition reads too little, you can choose “Read it precisely”. The image then goes once to our server and from there to Google (Gemini model) for analysis; we don't store it. Without that click, no image is transmitted.
• The property's address or coordinates: needed to fetch the location data.
• Technical server logs of the hosting provider (Hetzner Online GmbH, Germany): IP address and timestamp, for operational security, kept only briefly.

Requests to third-party services

For the analysis, our server queries open government services; this transmits the address or coordinates of the property being checked, no details about you:

• geo.admin.ch (geocoding, register of buildings and dwellings, sonnendach.ch)
• FOEN noise maps and OFCOM broadband atlas
• transport.opendata.ch (public transport travel time)

The map extracts (swisstopo national map) are loaded by your browser directly from geo.admin.ch; your IP address is visible to the federal administration in the process. The screenshot text recognition loads the Tesseract software from a CDN (jsdelivr.net).

Account (optional)

If you create an account, we store your email address, an encrypted password and the analyses you deliberately save (property details, income, equity). We use Supabase as a data processor for this. You can delete saved analyses and your entire account yourself at any time, directly in your profile.

Property data and account deletion

When you analyse a property, we store the listing data of the building (address, price, floor areas, year built and similar details) in anonymised form to observe the market over time. This data contains no link to you, your account or your financial details.

You can delete your account yourself at any time (in your profile, at the bottom). This permanently removes your account, your financial profile and all saved analyses; the anonymised property data remains.

Product analytics, no advertising

To improve the buying check, we use PostHog (PostHog Inc., USA) to measure which steps are used — for example “sales brochure uploaded” or “checklist opened”. What's recorded are usage events and a random identifier in the browser's local storage; your property and financial entries are not part of these events. There are no session recordings, no advertising or social media trackers, and we don't sell data. We set no cookies for this.

Under the Swiss Data Protection Act (revFADP) you have the right to access, correct and delete your personal data. Just write to hallo@huusfink.ch. We publish changes to this statement on this page.
